Last week I was in Singapore for the launch of the CBOE Options Institute at SGX.  Option trading is spreading around the globe and our partnership with SGX is a sign that more traders and investors outside the United States want to learn about using options as effective speculative and risk management tools.

Our first class took place at the SGX Academy where classes on futures and stock trading have been held for years.   We had well over 150 students show up last Wednesday for a three hour seminar discussing various option strategies and participating in a simulated option strategy trading game.  The reception was tremendous and planning is underway for future sessions.  Also, this first class was attended by both the CEO’s of CBOE and the Singapore Exchange which is a testament to the dedication both entities have to investor education.

By the end of the first quarter of 2016 the CBOE Options Institute at SGX will begin offering three levels of one day classes.  There will be ten instructors working for SGX to deliver this material in a very professional and informative manner.  This follows the model that The Options Institute at CBOE has been using for some time with the result being course offerings that cater to all levels of trader.
