A Hero’s Welcome
On Wednesday, CBOE hosted recent Congressional Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Army Capt. Florent Groberg for an opening bell-ringing ceremony. Exchange staff and traders gathered on the CBOE trading floor, cheering patriotically and giving Capt. Groberg a well-deserved hero’s welcome.

Today, Environmental Financial Products (EFP) and CBOE held a bell-ringing ceremony to officially launch the new American Financial Exchange (AFX). AFX is an electronic marketplace for small and mid-sized banks to lend and borrow short-term funds. There were nearly 50 guests in attendance, including representatives from participating banks, AFX board members, Dr. Richard Sandor, Chairman and CEO of AFX, and Steven Koch, the Deputy Mayor of the City of Chicago.

Asian Options Extension
During the last several days, CBOE has extended its outreach into Asia with two significant initiatives -- the first-ever Risk Management Conference Asia was held in Hong Kong and The CBOE Options Institute at Singapore Exchange (SGX) was launched, with its first classes on Wednesday. These initiatives meet the increasing demand for options and volatility trading in the region.

For the fourth year in a row, CBOE brought home the title of “U.S. Options Exchange of the Year” by Futures and Options World. FOW cited CBOE’s continued product innovation and commitment to investor education. This was the sixth industry award CBOE has taken home this year.
