Every job has the things you ‘have to do’ and those that you ‘get to do’. I know I have worn this line out, but I cannot think of a better way to describe what the Cboe Risk Management Conferences mean to me. The schedule for this year’s Asian version of RMC was posted on Friday and as always the lineup is very strong with respect to both the quality of speakers as well as the topics that will be covered in Hong Kong on December 5th and 6th.
Day one covers all things equity options and volatility at a high level with discussions covering a progression of subjects from benchmarks demonstrating the value of adding derivatives to portfolios, how volatility exposure may enhance portfolio returns, and sourcing liquidity in index options.
The second day begins with a Cboe Global Markets update from Andy Lowenthal who is followed by two must see sessions. Louis-Vincent Gave CEO of Gavekal will look to next year with a talk entitled, Market Movers: The Structure and the Cycle in 2018. He will be followed by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss who will discuss Digital Assets and the Futures of Finance.
After lunch sessions offer a deeper dive into market volatility with discussions addressing Harvesting Volatility Risk Premia, the Drivers and Dynamics of Volatility, and Tail Risk Hedging.
