The ticker symbol for a VIX® futures contract has three parts: the underlying ticker symbol, a letter for the expiration month, and a number that indicates the expiration year.
The underlying ticker for VIX futures is VX.
The number indicating the expiration year is the last digit in the full year. For example, "2" indicates 2012.
