Registration

Q: Is it necessary to register with CBOE in order to take an online course?
A: Yes. In order for us to personalize your unique course status page and track your status in an in-progress course, you must register with the CBOE website.

Q: If I encounter problems while registering, whom should I contact?
A: Please please visit our contact form and we will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.
Important Note: Email is not encrypted and not considered a secure means of transmitting credit card numbers. Please do not submit any credit card data by email.



Registration Code

Q: Your site lists a general registration code but I received a special promotional code, which one should I use?
A: You should use the special promotional registration code in order to receive a promotional rate.

Q: I have already registered and enrolled in a course. I received a promotional registration code and I would like to register for an additional course. Can I change my registration code?
A: Yes. From your course status page, click on the Registration code link near the bottom of the page. Enter your new registration code in the box provided. You will then have an opportunity to update your personal profile.



Payment & Security

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept Visa, MasterCard & American Express.

Q: What if I do not like a course - can I get a refund?
A: Because content is available for immediate download, we are unable to grant a refund on our online courses.

Q: What will you do with my registration information?
A: Please review our Privacy Policy.

Q: How is my online payment processed? Is it secure?
A: Your payment information will be routed, processed, and secured by VeriSign. For more information about Verisign, please click here.



Course Content & Certificate

Q: After I complete the course will I still have access to the study materials for future reference?
A: The course content will be available until the course expires. If you would like to retain the material for future reference, it is suggested that you download the PDF file using the link from the first page of the content or the summary page.

Q: I successfully completed a course, but I forgot to print my certificate and it has since disappeared. How can I access my certificate?
A: Unfortunately, the certificate link will disappear once the course expires. However, you may still access your earned credit report by clicking on the Course History link from your course status page.

Bookmark Lesson

Q: Is it possible to mark my place in the lesson for the next time that I log in?
A: Yes. Before you log out of the system, click on the bookmark icon located in the left navigation bar, from the page you would like to bookmark. Upon your next login, you will notice a link to the bookmarked page from your course status screen.

Q: Can I bookmark the final exam?
A: No. You may not bookmark the final exam but if you must pause an exam and return at a later time or date, you will be returned to the last question answered.

Q: I am an experienced options broker and am familiar with most of the information presented in the lessons. Is it possible for me to jump to the topics that I need to review?
A: Yes. Each lesson contains a table of contents with links to each main section. You will find the T of C on the first page before the lesson begins and you may also access it at any time by clicking on the T of C icon in the left navigation bar.



Exams

Q: How many chances do I get to pass an exam?
A: You will have two opportunities to take each exam and must reach the benchmark level in order to pass the course.

Q: If I get a passing score on all the exams but one, will I get credit for the course?
A: No, you will only receive credit for those modules in which you received a passing score. In order to receive credit for the failed module, you must reregister for that module only and obtain a passing score.

Q: Must I reach the benchmark score on each module or will all my scores be averaged at the end?
A: You must reach the benchmark level on each module exam to receive credit for that module. Scores will NOT be averaged.

Q: Will I have an opportunity to review all my exam answers before submitting the exam for a grade?
A: Yes. You will have an opportunity to review an already answered question.

Q: Will I be able to see which answers I got wrong?
A: Yes, there will be an Incorrect Answer Report available at the completion of each exam.

Q: Will the exam work the same way as the quizzes (chance to review content and reinforcement statements)?
A: Yes. You will have an opportunity to review an already answered question. However, you will not receive reinforcement statements.

Q: I am done with the lesson, now how do I access the exam?
A: A link to the exam can be found on the Summary page of each module.



Course Expiration

Q: How long do I have to take each exam? Is there a time limit?
A: You are allowed 24 hours to complete an exam and you may pause your exam and return at a later time and date if necessary. But, you must complete the exam(s) for a course, within the allotted time for the course (generally 6 weeks from the date of registration).

Q: How do I know when my course expires?
A: The expiration date & time is listed on the course registration confirmation page and email. You will also receive a reminder email within 1 week of the course expiration.

Q: Can I get an extension of time on a course?
A: No. Unfortunately, our system does not allow us to extend individual course valid dates.



Miscellaneous

Q: I am having some difficulty understanding some of the terminology. Any suggestions?
A: In addition to the hyperlinked terms found throughout the lessons, you may also access the entire options glossary by clicking on the glossary icon in the left navigation bar. You will also find a list of additional resources on the last page of the lesson.

Q: Is it possible to register for more than one course at a time?
A: Yes, you may register for all available course at one time but the time allotted for each course is concurrent and therefore you must complete all course exams before the course expiration date.

Q: How do I play audio files?
A: Simply click on the link and the file should play within the course page.
