Options Specific Symbol Processing
Cboe has implemented a symbol mapping mechanism ( Symbol Mapping message) for the Cboe One Options feed. Each OSI symbol is mapped to a unique six-character, base-62 compressed ASCII encoded Symbol. This symbol mapping mechanism significantly reduces the size of the Cboe One Options feed and allows users to use the same symbol handling mechanisms for the Cboe-operated equity, options, and futures exchanges. See Cboe Titanium U.S. Symbology Reference for further details.
Symbol mapping information is available via the Spin Servers (see Spin Servers for further details). Symbol Mapping messages will be un-sequenced and are available from pre-market through the end of trading.
In addition to the Symbol Mapping messages available via the multicast feed Spin Servers, a downloadable file with current mappings is available via the Cboe website.
