Cancel Orders (Kill Switch)
This tool is specific to the Cboe Futures Exchange and allows for TPHs and Clearing firms to perform order cancellations or Kill Switch (cancel + block) operations. Similar controls exist for equities/options as defined within the Cboe Titanium U.S. Equities/Options Web Portal Port Controls Specification.
This CFE specific tool allows the user to cancel existing orders and block new orders. Clearing firms are restricted to only Cancel and/or Block Orders by EFID, but TPHs can also utilize the tool to cancel individual orders or narrow down the search by filling in additional filters. The Operator ID field must be populated with the Order Entry Operator ID in order to cancel open orders/quotes or to initiate a kill switch. This application has the following features.
Cancel by Order ID: Cancel individual orders one at a time by supplying the Order ID and clicking submit.
Cancel by EFID: Select one or all EFIDs to determine what orders should be cancelled.
- Additional Filters: In order to narrow down the results further, the following filters can be utilized in addition to the EFID.
- Port Sub ID
- Asset (Options, Futures, Both)
- Product (i.e. VX, VU, VA)
- Symbol (Cboe Symbol ID)
- Clearing Account
- Order Type (Complex or Simple)
- Time in Force (GTC or Day)
Kill Switch: The Kill Switch allows clearing firms and TPHs to cancel all existing orders/quotes and optionally block all new orders/quotes at the EFID level. A clearing firm that enables the Kill Switch to block new orders/quotes will be required to contact the Trade Desk to remove the order block if they wish for their associated TPH(s) to resume sending new orders or quotes. A TPH may release a self-imposed kill switch (order block) by sending the appropriate BOE/FIX message to reset.
