Dedicated Cores

Cboe offers an optional Dedicated Cores service that allows Members and Sponsored Access Participants to host their specific BOE logical order entry ports on their own dedicated CPU core(s). By utilizing the full processing power of a dedicated CPU core — rather than sharing a core among multiple logical order entry ports on a given server — Dedicated Cores may provide reduced latency, enhanced throughput, and improved performance.

Firms may operate across a mix of shared and dedicated CPU cores, enabling additional flexibility for risk and capacity management. There are no changes to the BOE order entry protocol associated with the use of Dedicated Cores.

Each Dedicated Core supports a single BOE logical port. When requesting a new BOE logical port, firms wishing to utilize this service must request that the new logical port be hosted on a Dedicated Core. Risk settings for BOE logical ports on Dedicated Cores can be managed independently; firms utilizing such ports are encouraged to confirm risk settings prior to use.

The following limits apply across all Cboe-affiliated U.S. Equities Exchanges (BYX, BZX, EDGA, EDGX):
  • The maximum number of Dedicated Cores allowed for each Member is 170.
  • The maximum number of Dedicated Cores for each Sponsored Access Participant access relationship with a Sponsoring Member is 85.

Firms may request Dedicated Cores using the Logical Port Request Tool within the Cboe Customer Web Portal. Standard monthly logical port fees apply in addition to applicable Dedicated Core fees. For current fee schedules, refer to the applicable U.S. Equities Exchange fee schedule.
