Respond to a Mutual Adjust/Bust Request (Effective 09/28/26)

To respond to a mutual adjust/bust request, complete the following steps in the Mutual Adjust/Bust tool.

Alternatively, users can choose to take no action to a mutual adjust/bust request and instead let the request expire.

  1. Open the Mutual Adjust/Bust tool from within the Customer Web Portal.

  2. On the Inbound Requests tab, select the trade to adjust/bust.

  3. Select one of the following options:

    1. Accept - The trade adjustment or bust is executed automatically.

    2. Deny - The request is denied and no changes are made to the trade.

An email notification is sent to both parties, indicating whether the request was approved or denied.

Response Deadlines

  • For requests submitted between 8:30 a.m. ET and 4:25 p.m. ET, the contra party has 1 hour to approve or decline.

  • For requests submitted at or after 4:25 p.m. ET, the request remains open for response until 8:30 a.m. ET the next trading day, unless it is subject to same-day expiration (below).

  • Same-day expiration executions: Responses must be received within 1 hour or by 5:25 p.m. ET the same day, whichever is earlier, otherwise the request is automatically declined.
