Submit a Mutual Adjust/Bust Request (Effective 09/28/26)
To submit a mutual adjust/bust request, complete the following steps in the Mutual Adjust/Bust tool.
Note - Only authorized users may submit a mutual adjust/bust request.
Search for an eligible execution by the Order / Exec ID, or by the Symbol and time range.
Click Add to select an order.
Under Request Details, select one of the following:
Bust - Request to cancel the trade execution(s)
Adjust - Request to modify the execution price and/or quantity.
Optional. Select Intrusion Trade to identify trades the firm believes may be fraudulent. If selected, this indicator is displayed to the contra party for informational purposes.
Click Submit Request.
Email notifications are sent to both parties when a request is submitted.
Rules and Eligibility
The following rules and eligibility criteria apply when submitting a request:
- Only electronic trades are eligible. Floor trades are excluded and should continue to be managed through the existing Clearing Editor workflow.
- If an Order ID is entered, the mutual request applies to the selected execution IDs within that order. Bulk submission is supported using execution IDs.
- A Reason field is optional for all requests.
- An optional Intrusion Trade indicator may be selected. This option should be used to identify those trades that the firm believes may be fraudulent. If selected, this indicator is displayed to the contra party for informational purposes.
Submission Deadlines
- All requests, except for same-day expiration executions, must be submitted by 8:30 a.m. ET on the first trading day following the execution.For executions in an options series expiring that day, the request must be submitted within 45 minutes after the close of the RTH session (i.e., by 4:45 p.m. ET).
