Feature of the Month: BIDS Buyback Order

This month we’re highlighting the BIDS Buyback Order, built for buyback desks looking to source block liquidity anonymously within 10b-18 rules. Buyback Orders trade at or below the greater of the last trade price or the NBB, with that logic enforced at the matching engine, giving desks the confidence to access blocks without sacrificing price discipline.

  • Interact directly with buy-side liquidity from 458 institutions
  • Midpoint execution: ~90% of BIDS volume executes at the midpoint
  • Price discipline: trades at or below the greater of last sale or NBB
  • Reduced information leakage: set a minimum size to control signaling as you approach ADTV limits
  • Flexible timing: set your own TIF, or default to a 3:30 pm ET cutoff (auto cancel at 3:50pm ET)
  • Easy to implement: flag orders via Tag 50 on your existing FIX connection, or set up a dedicated Buyback connection
