McCarthy & Cox Retirement and Estate Specialists LLC was founded in 1999 by Tom McCarthy and Jim Cox. The firm's headquarters and main office are located in Marysville, Ohio, a rural town about 20 miles outside of Columbus. M&C clients are all either at or near the age of retirement. Yellow Finch, a subsidiary of M&C, centers around a younger clientelle with a longer investment horizon and less financial planning needs.
M&C focuses on hollistic and comprehensive financial planning, with investment management being but one component of a much larger plan. Our client base in general is made up of hardworking and conservative families with midwestern values. Nearly all clients live in and around the surrounding metropolitan area. Given the unique needs of our client base, our investment philosophy remains conservative.
From day one, our goal was to hit singles and doubles for clients with little-to-no home runs, but no strikeouts. Our firm has a long and well documented history of using Structured Products and Defined Outcome Strategies to meet the needs of our client base. M&C officially transitioned into an RIA in January 2024.
